Homeschooling and Other Resources

There are many resources available to help families homeschool in a way that is both affordable and effective!  The educational consultants at the Home School Legal Defense Association offer great resource pages:

o   Early Years Consultants (K-8th grade)

o   High School Consultants

o   Special Needs/Struggling Learner Consultants

Articles we recommend on how to help stretch the homeschool budget:

o   Homeschooling on a Shoestring Budget

o   Navigating the Used Curriculum Market

Find a local homeschool group in your state!

Get plugged in! Homeschooling tends to be a small, close-knit community, so if the state organization, a local church, or any other resource can put you in touch with homeschooling families in your area, those veteran homeschool parents will be your best resource for encouragement, curriculum (moms share a lot of curriculum), and recommendations.

Get Educated

o   Homeschool Progress Report: Read the published research that addresses gender, economic, and educational disparities within the homeschool community.

o   Homeschooling Grows Up: A study reports on homeschooled students as adults.

o   More research on HSLDA's site.
