Because of You, This Mom is "Living Out My Dream"

Dear everyone at HSF,

This is my second year receiving a homeschool grant from you. When my husband left us in May 2013, I deeply sensed that God was telling me to continue staying home with my kids and to trust Him to provide—and I have been homeschooling them ever since! I really struggle to articulate just how wonderful it has been to stay home with my kids; it is a tremendous gift. Your grant makes it possible for us to:

  • Have high-quality curriculum.
  • Have enough curriculum.
  • Have curriculum that meets our educational needs.

Because of your generous donors, I am living out my dream of raising and teaching my children, despite being a single mother.

This past February, my son was viciously attacked by a dog. We were in Boston Children’s Hospital for two and a half weeks and then in recovery for a month after. It was a tremendous blessing to be able to tailor our schooling based on his recovery, as opposed to dealing with weeks of catch-up in the public school system.

I’m deeply grateful that God brought you into my life. It has been such a lovely blessing to us. Thank you for making this part of our life so rich—and attainable. What your foundation accomplishes is worth all of your time, effort, struggle, planning, and turmoil. Please never quit! There are so many people who benefit from your generosity—so many children, especially. Jesus said, “What you have done for the least of these, you have done for Me.” I can’t even imagine the treasure you all must be laying up where moths and rust cannot destroy!

Thank you for being God’s hands and feet in so many people’s lives, and especially in ours. It is such a joy to be home with my children and to be properly equipped to teach and train them.
