Help Families Rebuild after Widespread Flooding
![]() Most of the central Atlantic coastline saw torrential downpours over the last week. While the staff at HSF's offices in Northern Virginia witnessed several days of almost non-stop rain, we did not experience the amount of precipitation or flooding seen further south of us--especially in South Carolina.
HSF is partnering with SCAIHS (the South Carolina Association of Independent Home Schools), to identify and assist homeschool families impacted by the floods. Already, we know of two families who have lost nearly everything.
You can help families harmed by floods like these by donating to the Compassion Emergency Response Fund. Eileen T., a homeschooling mother helped through this fund shared how much help from HSF meant to her family. "The need to repair our damaged home was far beyond our ability to meet. We know nothing is impossible for God, but we also know He used many who have given sacrificially to help us and enable us to continue to homeschooling."
If you, or a homeschool family you know, experienced damage to or loss of property due to recent flooding, please contact us. If you live in South Carolina, please contact SCAIHS (http://schomeschooling.com) as well for additional assistance. We will post updates to this article as we have them.
Our prayers go out to everyone affected by these tragic floods. Please join us in lifting up these families as they rebuild their lives. Photos courtesy Alex Zelling. |
