Ambassador Sale

Used Curriculum Sale Helps Families Afford Homeschooling

What do you get when you combine a motivated, resourceful team of HSF ambassadors with a community of homeschooling families that love to save money?

You get an annual event that, since its inception, has raised nearly $35,000 for the Arizona Ambassador fund, helped over 65 homeschooling families in need, and blessed nearly 2,000 attendees with fantastic deals on curriculum.

For the past five years, the HSF Arizona Ambassador Team has hosted a new and used curriculum sale. The event allows families to stretch their homeschooling budget—and in some cases, it serves as their only way to afford homeschooling.

This year, the sale was held at the Phoenix YMCA. The ambassador team spent months collecting, storing, sorting, pricing, and organizing homeschool books and materials from donors who were excited for their beloved curriculum to be rehomed with a family who needed it.

“It is a blessing to see how well received our efforts continue to be every year,” said Carol Gary, the HSF State Ambassador for Arizona. “Not only does a fundraising effort like this allow us to build our budget for the year to help local families in crisis very quickly, but it also enables us to serve the homeschooling community with great deals. It is wonderful when a mom of several school-aged children comes up to you and tearfully shares that they never dreamed they could own a full encyclopedia set or a barely used complete set of mainstream curriculum for such great prices.”
