Now Enrolling HSF Youth Ambassadors!
Starting April 1, 2014, the Ambassador Program, the service arm of the Home School Foundation, is pleased to offer a new category of ambassador: Youth Ambassador!
Service-oriented, creative young people, between 15-18 years of age, desiring practical life experiences working with adults and other teens to make a difference in their homeschool community are welcome to enroll as a Youth Ambassador to serve alongside their parent/guardian who also enrolls as an a sponsor ambassador.
Youth Ambassadors will create and implement service projects and fundraisers with their sponsoring ambassador, learn to serve as conscientious members of a team, and gain experience in the skilled crafts and the business world in order to grow into be contributing, compassionate adults. This opportunity is a wonderful addition to your teen's resume as meaningful community service and preparation for their future profession or trade, both of which are highly desirable to employers. At age 19, Youth Ambassadors may choose to graduate to full-fledged Community Ambassadors.
Youth Ambassadors will also receive an ambassador t-shirt and lapel pin in a Youth Ambassador Starter Kit and accompany their sponsoring ambassador to represent HSF when appropriate. They will be able to help recruit other Youth Ambassadors by introducing the idea to their friends’ parents.
To start the application process for yourself and your teen, please complete the online interview at the bottom of the Ambassador page and answer “yes” to the question about Youth Ambassador. The Ambassador Program Coordinator will be right back in touch with the next step to take.
The Home School Foundation is excited to begin working with a second generation of ambassadors creating a legacy of “many hands making a difference in the homeschool community.”
