About Home School Foundation Watch This Brief Video To Learn More About The Foundation Our Mission The Foundation’s mission is to provide assistance to homeschooling families in need, preserve parental freedoms, promote homeschooling, and support like-minded organizations. History The Home School Foundation was founded by the Home School Legal Defense Association in 1994 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) with the initial purpose of promoting homeschooling and blessing the homeschool movement. While our original focus was on helping other homeschool groups, God has since expanded our vision to include needy families within the homeschool community. Our new name — the Home School Foundation — reflects the broader nature of the needs we meet. We are currently seeking to help families through several funds: the Widows Fund, the Special Needs Children’s Fund, the Friends of Homeschooling Fund, the Generation Joshua Fund, the Compassion Fund, the PHC Scholarship Fund, the Members Helping Members Fund, the International Homeschooling Fund and the Children of Single Parents Fund.
