Many single parents come from abusive situations. Cheryl is one of those single moms. She was a new Christian when she met her future husband. There were warning signs, Cheryl recalls, but he otherwise appeared to be a mature, godly man. They were soon married. As a newlywed in her second week of marriage, Cheryl found herself pregnant and fighting for her life and the lives of her son and unborn child, at the hands of her husband. For many months, he was repeatedly and violently abusive. She knew this was dangerous for her and her children, both physically and emotionally. Cheryl found courage in the Lord and cried out to Him not to allow anymore of this. She drew upon the support and counsel of her church family throughout the imprisonment of her husband and the following divorce.
The money Cheryl received through the Home School Foundation was a welcome blessing amidst divorce settlements, debt incurred by her husband, and the normal expenses of homeschooling and life for a single mom. She was able to purchase curriculum for her school-aged child and pay some household bills.
“It is truly an honor to have found more family in Jesus Christ. We all are trying daily to make heaven our home, and I am amazed at His constancy in miracles. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your obedience to serve the Lord. We refuse to live in fear anymore, and we praise God for deliverance.”
